Life-Balance
The Chakras
The seven main chakras are energy centers within the body, each linked to specific physical, emotional, and spiritual
aspects, and correspond with different organs, emotions, and areas of our life and identity. These seven chakras all
have corresponding chakra colors, chakra symbols, and chakra stones that align with each. Balancing these chakras is believed to promote overall well-being and harmony within oneself.
Root Chakra

The Muladhara Chakra is based on the earth element and radiates the color red. Balancing it creates a solid foundation for opening all the other six chakras, promoting stability, confidence, energy, and strength. The Root Chakra is the first chakra in the energy body, located at the base of the spine at the perineum, between the anus and the genitals. Its location signifies its role as a link between the physical world and our internal energetic system. When this energy center is balanced, we feel grounded, stable, confident, and strong in the world. Conversely, a blocked or imbalanced Root Chakra can lead to feelings of insecurity, anxiety, stress, and a loss of personal bearings.
Sacral Chakra

The Sacral Chakra, or Svadhishthana means “dwelling place of the Self, supporting the personal expansion and exploration of sexuality, desires, and creativity. It is called our own place because it is this chakra where human beings are settled in their minds, thoughts, and awareness. It is associated with the element of water and the vibrant color orange. This energy assists in letting go, accepting change, and transformation in life. It is also a direct line to our creativity, intuition, and sexual pleasure. The Sacral Chakra is located in the lower abdomen, four fingerbreadths below the navel. Due to its location, it is also closely associated with the bladder, kidneys, and reproductive organs, and helps regulate the flow of energy in this area of the body. The Sacral Chakra color is orange and element is water.
Solar Plexus Chakra

The Solar Plexus Chakra, also known as the Manipura Chakra, is the third chakra in the 7 chakra system. This energy center governs our ability to be confident, assertive, and make decisions from a place of inner wisdom. It is also the key to unlocking our personal power and building a strong sense of self. The Manipura Chakra spreads the fire element in your body which brings energy, warmth, and light. This is also the energy center of of digestion, intellect, ego, willpower, and aggression. The Solar Plexus Chakra location is four fingerbreadths above the navel, just below the rib cage. To be more precise, it's on the line from the end of the sternum to the navel in the solar plexus. When the third chakra is in balance, you feel confident, self-motivated, and have a sense of purpose. The Manipura Chakra color is yellow and element is fire.
Heart Chakra

The Heart Chakra, also known as Anahata - is the fourth and often considered the most crucial. It is the bridge between the lower and upper chakras, balancing the material and spiritual worlds and facilitating our emotional and physical well-being. Pure love opens the fourth chakra, allowing us to receive and give love unconditionally. Balancing the energy of this chakra enables us to tap into the power of anahata and experience love in its purest form without any attachment or expectation. Therefore, we become "unstuck" from negative emotions, past traumas, and limiting beliefs that may be holding us back. Located in the center of our chest, close to our physical heart, the Heart Chakra is closely connected with the heart, lungs, and the thymus gland, regulating the flow of energy in this area of the body. The Heart Chakra color is green and element is air.
Throat Chakra

The Throat Chakra, also known as Vishuddha Chakra in Sanskrit, is the fifth energy center in your chakra system. Subtle energetic qualities of the Vishuddha Chakra govern your ability to speak, listen, and express yourself as a higher form of communication. When you’re able to express yourself freely, think creatively, and communicate without fear - that’s your Throat Chakra functioning flawlessly. However, when blocked or out of balance, your fifth chakra may make it difficult for you to speak your mind, be imaginative, and connect on a deeper level. The Vishuddha Chakra is located at the base of the throat, at the center of the larynx. Its positioning also has a direct impact on the organs and glands that surround it, such as the thyroid and parathyroid glands, as well as the larynx and tongue. As a result, a balanced fifth chakra promotes healthy functioning of the physical body in this region, as well as our emotional and spiritual connection to our true voice and sense of self. The Throat Chakra element is space and the color is blue.
Third-Eye Chakra

The Third-Eye Chakra, also known as Ajna Chakra in Sanskrit, is the sixth of the seven primary chakras in the body. Also known as the “perception center,” it is believed to be the seat of the soul and the gateway to higher consciousness. The sixth chakra is also associated with light, which represents clarity, understanding, and spiritual insight. In the physical body, the Ajna Chakra corresponds with the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland, and the pineal gland, as well as the eyes, ears, and the nose.
The Ajna Chakra is located in the astral body corresponding to the spinal cord, at the center of the brain. Its exact location is four inches behind the center of the eyebrows. While the two physical eyes see the past and the present, the third eye reveals insight into the future. It establishes a connection with the external world through inner vision, and focusing on this energy center motivates us to move beyond worldly desire and distractions. The Thid-eye CHakra element is light and color is indigo.
